Junction Goole hosted a CPD training day on Tuesday 10 November.

Into Film have funded various venues throughout England to organize training for primary and secondary teachers on how to develop Literacy and MFL through the use of film and how to use ipads in the classroom to make film.

Junction offered a day aimed at primary school teachers and had two very different sessions arranged.

The morning session was based around film and literacy and used book adaptations as the focus. The teachers were involved in activities illustrating how words were translated into images. The session was run by Geraldine Walker, Education Director of Reel Solutions.

The afternoon session was hands on with Paul Slater, (Fabric Lenny) taking the teachers through the uses of various apps on the ipad to make film through a range of artistic apps and processes finishing with an session on editing. Each school is offered follow on work shops with Paul in March to extend and consolidate their knowledge and practice.
