 Ramon Lamarca

Programme Adviser

Ramon has lived in London for many years having moved from his homeland of Catalonia. Ramon discovered the delights of films in original version with subtitles when, as a child, a friend’s father took them to see Lubitsch’s To be or not to be in Barcelona. He spent many happy years seeking out original versions in the cinemas of Barcelona and had a particular interest in widescreen cinema. He has written for and collaborated with Thomas Hauerslev’s in70mm.com website and is one of the founders of the 65/70mm workshop hosted by the same website. Now, he wants to promote the cinema from his homeland, Catalonia, and has curated a Catalan Film Season for the Cambridge Film Festival and is currently working on another season with the Salisbury Arts Festival.
