Tony was a journalist for 13 years before joining the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television (now the National Media Museum) in 1999. He was Head of Film Programming and served as Artistic Director of both Bradford International Film Festival and the Fantastic Films Weekend, which he created in 2002. He has guest curated seasons for the National Film Theatre, lectured on film at venues across the UK and taught film journalism at the University of Huddersfield. He was part of the project team that delivered the successful bid for Bradford: City of Film and is the film critic for the Yorkshire Post and BBC Radio Leeds. He is also the author of several books and monographs on the cinema.
