Zoë Naylor



Zoë has worked in film exhibition for nearly 25 years both in cinemas and for organisations including the Independent Cinema Office and British Film Institute where she was a programme and development advisor to many regional independent cinemas. She has curated and distributed touring film programmes around the UK for the National Film Theatre, numerous film festivals, First Light and the bfi. She took the big screen to rural locations throughout North Yorkshire with the project Screenwaves which included the UK’s first hydro-powered film screenings. Focusing more recently on developing and managing film schools for Into Film and BFI Film Academies in Bradford and Chester, Zoe enjoys supporting the next generation of young filmmakers. She developed the first Academy to focus on Virtual Reality and 360° filmmaking in Chester in 2017 and created Digital Futures a day long conference to promote discussion and share developments in these new technologies in the North of England.
