With a story tracking the mysterious bloody murders of a black leather-clad knife-wielding serial killer in a sexy Milan fashion house, Strip Nude for Your Killer (aka Nude per l’assassino) remains a classic if elusive example of the Italian shock thriller or ‘giallo’. Gialli were concerned with style, effect and visceral impact at the expense of any convincing plot and, propelled by the nudity first exposed in the Italian mondo film, combined sex and violence with sadistic glee (crew members feared for director Bianchi’s sanity). With performances by a bevy of Euro starlets (dressed in Levi’s), a script exploring the ‘psychopathology of the modern city’, and a pulsating, sleazy soundtrack by Berto Pisano Strip Nude for Your Killer is a fantastic film, but a thrilling one.
