Day School: National Stories in European Cinema + Winter in Wartime




Mechanics Institute Bradford, 19 November 10.30 – 16.30


The day will explore one of the important features of European cinema – the attraction for filmmakers of national stories or films that attract audiences away from Hollywood if they tune in with ideas about national identity. These films might also attract public funding. The day will include a full screening of Winter in Wartime (Netherlands 2009).


Tutor: Roy Stafford, Fee for the day: £14 (Concessions £9)


Tea and coffee will be provided and there are places nearby to buy lunch, although people are welcome to bring their own lunches.
