History and Film
The Princess of the Sun
History and Film CPD
This day looks at how film can be used to enhance and develop the skills necessary to research historical sources; discuss representation and historical accuracy and how films aid or corrupt the understanding of periods of history.
The skills will be transferable to cover any historical period and there will be opportunity for teachers to use the knowledge and skills gained as part of the day to use to plan for their own purposes.
There will be a section on the use of archive film in the classroom, devising reminiscence projects and looking at filmic devices to enhance the quality of the project.
This is a fascinating day and has inspired many teachers to use film as part of their planning for history and has helped develop a wider resource base as well was new and creative ways of lighting up this wonderful subject.
£150 per person for the day which includes refreshments and a resource pack.
