The development of the film industry

This session looks at the history of the film industry from the  20thC to the present day.

The focus can reflect particular aspects e.g. growth of the American Studio Sysytem; new technologies; Verite film etc.

Distribution       

A look at how the film industry makes and distributes film from major companies through to independents.

The history of animation

This traces the beginnings of animation up until the present.

1.What are their purpose; when did they start and what is their future?

2. How do you start a film festival? A day looking at the basics of  what is involved in running a successful festival.

Independent Cinema versus Chains

We look at the differences between the two and what do oy need to attract an audience?
