History and Film – A day for KS2 Pupils
Dig for Victory – Dive for Cover
A day looking at WW2 through film as dramatic re-construction or documentary evidence.
Archive footage plays an important role in this including news-reels, Government Information films and these are compares to dramatic representations of similar events. The morning consists of film extracts and activities for the children, followed by a screening of a feature film in the afternoon.
The main areas of study in the morning are the start of the war, the Blitz, Dig for Victory and Evacuees and we aim to invite a person who experienced evacuation either in the UK or as part of the Kindertransport with the chance for children to ask questions after the guest has spoken of their experiences.
There is an education resource pack for teachers and activity pack for pupils.

Goodnight Mr Tom
£10 per pupil for the day plus student pack and teachers resource pack.
Reel Victorians
This is a day aimed at using archive footage from the end of the Victorian age and offers a unique opportunity to see Victorians in their own time and place.
The morning session will focus on clips and short films and will explore a range of activities and subjects, e.g. leisure, school, work and transport plus Queen Victoria at home with her family.
There will be activities connected to the films and a resource pack for the teachers to use at school on how to further develop ideas and activities linked to using short films and film clips in history.
The morning uses archive footage to show Victorians at play, at work, the Royal family, transport and the differences between poor and rich. The screenings are interspersed with activities and in the afternoon, there will be a screening of a feature film.

£10 per pupil for the day plus student pack and teachers resource pack.
