On this day in 1967 Sergio Leone’s For a Few Dollars More was released in the US.

In the second part of what has now become known as the Dollars Trilogy, following A Fistful of Dollars (1964) and preceding The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), Clint Eastwood was back as Manco or the Man with No Name.

Although it received mixed reviews after it’s release it has grown in popularity over the years and is now viewed more favourably by critics. In Italy, where it was first released, it proved to be more commercially successful than it’s predecessor and by 1967 it had become the highest grossing film in the history of Italian cinema.
